A short radius elbow means that the bend radius of the elbow is one times the diameter of the elbow. Due to the short bending radius, the elbow length is short, and the cost and price are low. Commonly used short radius elbows are 90° elbows and 180° elbows. It is used in medical applications in low pressure fluids or where there are restrictions on elbows. The short radius elbow is characterized by temperature resistance, good flexibility and heat resistance, and its performance is higher than other plastic pipes.
Standard: ASME/ANSI B16.28, MSS-SP-75, DIN 2605, EN 10253-2 , JIS B2311
Material: ASTM A234, ASTM 403,DIN 17175, EN10228 …Carbon steel, stainless steel , alloy steel.
Size: 1/2″-96″. DN15-DN2400
Connect method: Butt welding.
The use of short radius elbows in pipes includes:
1. No special pressure drop requirements, no special requirements for fluid flow;
2, there are cases of outer casing: the general inner tube is 1.5D elbow, the outer casing is 1D elbow, to ensure that the inner tube can be smoothly inserted into the outer tube, reducing the construction difficulty;
3. Short radius elbows can be used to reduce pipe vibration and increase the rigidity of the entire pipe.
